Climate change: They finally got the name right, we’ve gone through many names for this and now they have finally got the name right. But what about the theories? Al Gore says that we are destroying the planet. I disagree. Life on this planet is constantly changing, and so is the climate. I do not believe for a second that we are causing the planet to heat up, the changes that are happening are the result of the natural cycle of the earth and the climate. But what really gets me steamed is, is all of these people saying we are going to destroy the planet and we need to stop emitting greenhouse gases and carbon emissions and that will stop the planet from being destroyed. In the early 90’S Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines erupted. During that single eruption the volcano released more materials into the environment that are supposedly harmful to the ozone layer than have been produced since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, and it didn’t do a single thing to adversely effect the supposed hole in the ozone layer.
I agree that the climate is changing but it is not caused by us it is a natural occurrence in the life cycle of this planet. The doom and gloom predictions of environmentalists like Al Gore are scare tactics and tools for people like him to get very filthy stinking rich off the rest of us. For example, I can’t remember the name of the guy and I haven’t been able to find his name anywhere, but the guy who owns all of the Colorado emissions testing centers in Denver and Colorado Springs is also the same one who passed the law that all cars need to be tested for emissions. I have no problems with lowering emissions and reducing pollution, but I don’t think it should be a tool for individuals to get rich off all the rest of us.
As for the effects of this climate change, the supporters make it seem like this change is going to cause the polar ice caps to completely melt, flooding the earth like in the movie Water World. Now think about this, 75% of the polar ice caps are already floating. So how are they going to flood the earth if they are already floating. Even scientists who are pro climate change, when asked the right questions admit that climate change will cause the earths oceans to rise 3 feet over the next hundred years. 3 FEET!!!! That’s nothing, ok so New Orleans will have to be abandoned along with anywhere subject to flooding like that. But it will not destroy the earth. The temperature rise will only be 3 to 5 degrees; they make it sound like it will be 30 to 50 degrees.
Now I am by no means an environmentalist, but I do agree that we need to find alternative ways to power the world. Take oil, oil is too valuable to continue to burn as fuel for cars. We need oil more for other uses like plastics and many many other uses than to just burn it.
Did you know that if 10,000 square miles of the desert in Nevada were covered with solar panels we could power this entire country with juice to spare. And 10,000 square miles in Nevada is only one 8th of the state.
